The Network has a special group responsible for its governance. This is called the Interim Steering Group (ISG), and is comprised of Network members who are voted onto the group by their Network peers to make decisions on behalf of the Network. The ISG also includes advisory members who represent other stakeholders including Counties Manukau District Health Board. Only the elected Network members (who are all AOD consumers) have the right to actually make decisions on behalf of the Network.

Network members can make suggestions at Network meetings or by contacting the Network manager and have these raised at the Steering Group meetings. The Network will be holding and election in July 2010, and a final Governance Steering Group will be established before the Network the future direction of the Network's Peer Support initiatives which will be taken over under the direction of CONNECT - Supporting Recovery (a service specialising in Peer support) later in 2010.
In addition to the ISG meetings, we hold Network meetings every six weeks. These are open to all members. Network meetings are an opportunity to be updated by ISG members and the Network Manager the latest news and to ensure Network members have their say. Lunch is provided and AOD consumers are welcome to attend. A Peer support Group is usually held after lunch which is a great forum for bringing all participating network members together to focus on recovery. Confidential registration forms are available at the meetings for anyone who decides they wish to join. Our meetings are only open to people who identify as being AOD consumers.
Currently most Network meetings (unless otherwise stated) are held at Nathan Homestead (70 Hill Rd, Manurewa).
